Earthquakes, tsunamis, cyclones, floods ─the
South-East Asia Region regularly faces some of the
world’s worst natural disasters.
Health facilities provide crucial lifesaving
services in a disaster. If they collapse it is a
double blow to an already devastated community.
The difference between a safe and unsafe hospital is
negligible. But the investment can make the
difference between life and death.
We call on 1 million people to help us tell
decision-makers that our hospitals must be made safe
from disasters.
We also call on health professionals, engineers,
architects, city planners, financial institutions,
policy- and decision-makers to come together to Save Lives: Make Hospitals Safe in Emergencies.
